This is the time of year to really make hay if it’s your desire to sell your property
in 2011. September and October can be pretty good months, and depending
on a few variables such as weather, inventory and interest rates, November and
December can even be surprisingly good.
September and October are months where summer activities are out of the way,
kids are in school and the holidays are coming up in the not to distant future,
which all leads to any buyers finally getting in gear, and maybe even feeling a
little sense of urgency to get moving.
November and December generally see a drop in showing activity, but the
people that are looking are often serious buyers, with many of moving in from out
of state and needing to buy a house, or people whose lease is up and they want
to take the plunge into home ownership for the Holidays or the New Year.
The other factor that comes into play for sellers is that there are typically a
lot less homes on the market this time of year to compete with for the buyers’
attention.
